Cancellation due to weather is solely at the Captain’s discretion. If this does occur, another date will be offered.
First Mate: Tipping
Your First Mate acts as the Captain’s second in command. At Blue Sky Charters, we always have a First Mate aboard any charter. Like food service workers, First Mates work for tips.
During the Charter, they are on board to serve both experienced and inexperienced anglers. Before and after the Charter, they clean and sanitize the boat, and they stock and service the equipment. It is customary to tip your First Mate 15% to 20% the cost of the Charter.
Many First Mates can be hired to clean your fish for you also. You are welcome to ask your First Mate about his or her terms for doing so.
How long is the fishing day?
A typical fishing day is 8 hours, or when reaching daily catch limit.
Are there any age restrictions?
There are no age restrictions. Just keep in mind that the charter could last up to 8 hours before we catch our limit. Young children may lose interest after that long. Kids age 16 and older are required to have an Ohio fishing license.
What is the maximum amount of people that are permitted on your charter?
Our charter license allows for 6 paying anglers plus a Captain and First Mate.
