A message from Captain Mark:

A day spent on the Lake is a great way to leave life’s stress behind and connect with family and friends. Life doesn’t get any better than a good walleye chop, great company and fish in the cooler! Or try a laid back day perch jerking! Either way, come and join us.

A message from Captain Peg:

Like many captains, I grew up in the Walleye capital of the world and was a recreational angler before I became a captain. I learned the lake and the movement of the fish at a young age. As a captain, my job is not just to put you on the fish, but to find the fish that are biting. Erie is a big lake and finding the right area to fish is a process that starts before and continues during the charter. The area with the best bite changes, and I’m fortunate to work with other great captains who share information on fishing conditions. Working together allows us to spread out and fish a larger area. We can narrow the depth, the count, lure type, and color to increase our catch.

I’m thankful that I can share my love of fishing with others who enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks for taking the time to explore Blue Sky Charters website, and I look forward to sharing my world on Lake Erie with you.

$380.00 per rod replacement cost.

Can I cancel if I feel the weather is too bad?

First Mate: Tipping

Your First Mate acts as the Captain’s second in command.  At Blue Sky Charters, we always have a First Mate aboard any charter.  Like food service workers, First Mates work for tips.

During the Charter, they are on board to serve both experienced and inexperienced anglers.  Before and after the Charter, they clean and sanitize the boat, and they stock and service the equipment.  It is customary to tip your First Mate 15% to 20% the cost of the Charter.

Many First Mates can be hired to clean your fish for you also.  You are welcome to ask your First Mate about his or her terms for doing so.

How long is the fishing day?

A typical fishing day is 8 hours, or when reaching daily catch limit.

Are there any age restrictions?

There are no age restrictions. Just keep in mind that the charter could last up to 8 hours before we catch our limit. Young children may lose interest after that long. Kids age 16 and older are required to have an Ohio fishing license.

What is the maximum amount of people that are permitted on your charter?

Our charter license allows for 6 paying anglers plus a Captain and First Mate.

If you have more than 6 people, we can add additional boats for the trip.

"Had another great day of fishing on Friday with Captain Peggy of Blue Sky Charters. If you're looking for a Captain that knows the lake and teaches you so you have the best experience on the water. Go checkout Blue Sky Charters. We limited out and no one lost a pole this year. Lol"

-Greg Alspaugh

"Had a blast with Peg and Justing on Blue Sky Charters. She is one awesome captain. Put us on fish 2 days straight. Gal knows what she's doing. Hook up a trip with her. Won't be disappointed."

-Ronnie Bowling

"Captain Peg and Justin were amazing! Mother Erie was in a “mood” but the Captain handled the Blue Diamond masterfully and Justin kept the rods, reels and bait moving without a hitch! Such a fantastic way to celebrate our anniversary...which is normally spent catching walleye in NE Ontario but Covid had other ideas! As fate usually does, it brought us together and now we’re planning on being back in the spring and can’t wait! For a super memorable and enjoyable charter Blue Sky Charters is the one to call! Kathy and Tony💕"

-Kathleen Wallace

"Our family had a great day on the water with Captain Peg and first mate, Justin. Both of them were great with our kids, ages 13, 15 and 19 and gave the kids tips and tricks since they had very little fishing experience. Boat was nice and clean, equipment was new. Overall our family had a wonderful day and caught our limit. We would definitely recommend Blue Sky Charters and Peg to a friend and we hope to go out again in the future."

-Gina Boleng

"I had a memorable bachelor's party out on Lake Erie with five other guys. Captain Mark and Justin helped us get our limit of walleyes today. I would recommend this charter to anyone that would like to have a fun day out on the lake. They provided excellent service and clean our fish. Outstanding experience!"

-Robert Lempner

"We had a blast!! Thank you for making our trip fun and exciting. Captain Peggy brought us right to the fish and Cody and Mark were so helpful."

-Emily Eversole

"We were lucky to have two captians and a first mate and they were all excellent. They put us one the fish and gave good advice on how to get 'em to bite without talking down to us. Our group was a mix of experienced fishers and newbies and it's to the Capitans' credit that the newbies out fished most of the rest of us. Limited out early, and fished for fun for another couple of hours. We will definitely charter through Blue Sky again next time we come up to Lake Erie."

-Nick Statt

"What an amazing fishing trip Captain Peg and First Mate’s Cody and Mark gave us. (We went out 2 days) Captain Peg put us on top of the fish, and we caught our group limit pretty fast. Leaving out early in the morning was great to see the sunrise on the water. Looking forward to next years trip. We had a group of 5, so for the two days we walked off the boat with 60 walleye! We will be eating good, for a while. Thanks for the memories."

-Mike Whitman

"We had a great time. My son loved it. We plan on making this a yearly father/son trip. We loved Blue Sky Charters"
